Believe it or not...

My chevron scarf is now complete.  I finished it last night before bedtime and took pictures today.

It was fun to knit, especially when I stopped doing the p2tog tbl.  I messed up with not paying attention to the pattern though.  While I was doing the  p2tog tbl, I was doing it at both the start and finish of the WS rows and even worse I was doing the double decrease wrong and it is obvious, but not bad enough that I would redo the first third of the scarf that I messed up.  I'm still happy with it though and so are the Lambies.

Barely Going

So I've been hoping to get a lot of stuff done lately, but have utterly failed.  What's keeping me from progress?  Believe it or not... heartburn.  OMG!  It's been so bad lately.  I practically have to sit up all the way to even sleep and I still get woken up around 4 or 5am.  It seems it eases back to bearable in just enough time for me to eat a meal and then it's back again.   Hopefully it will get better soon.

Enough complaining though.  In good news, I should complete my Chevron Scarf soon.  It's already long enough, but I want it to be extra long so I'm still knitting on it.  I'll post photos and more details when I'm finished.

As for the Drop-Stitch Lace Tank...

It's just sitting there, only 5 or 10 rows longer than when I first introduced it in the last blog.  After I finish my scarf, I'll jump back in on it though.  If you're wondering about my scribbles on the notepad, I have to write every detail down or I will not remember what I did.  It's sad how easily I forget.  Why in crayon?  I just couldn't find a pen or pencil on the 3rd floor and wasn't going to walk all the way down to the 1st floor to get one. :D

New project

First off, I haven't finished my Chevron Scarf yet, but it's gotta be over 50" by now.  I haven't measured it in a while though so I'm not sure.  It will be finished before V-Day though.  I promise.

I couldn't wait to start my first sweater (technically, it's a tank) once I procured the yarn I decided to use.  I found someone selling enough Estelle Young Touch Cotton DK to do the Drop-Stitch Lace Tank from Fitted Knits.  I'm not using the recommended yarn, but after hearing stories about it being fuzzy and loosing it's shape during wear, I wasn't looking forward to using it.  The yarn I chose to use has very little give, but I'm hoping the pattern will be stretchy enough on its own seeing as the whole thing is done in a lace pattern that is ribbed and the rest is done in 2x2 ribbing.  We'll just have to wait and see.  The top is done in two pieces, front and back.  I've only done about 5.5 to 6 inches of the front so far.

Hopefully, it will knit up fairly quickly (and fit).  I'm sure nice weather isn't too far away here in Charleston.

Sporadic At Best

I know.  It's sad.  I create a blog and then barely ever blog.  I'm going to try to get back in the swing of things.  I promise.

So what's happening right now?  I'm making a Pot Roast and a Lemon Ice-Box Cake. I'm also trying my best to finish the Chevron Scarf I started back in September.  Right now it's at 30".  I really need to finish it so I can move on to something else.  I'm thinking I might attempt my first sweater next.  I just haven't picked out the right pattern yet so I'll have to blog about that more later.

Now on to the greatest thing since sliced bread:

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="334" caption="Netflix!!!"]Netflix!!![/caption]

This service is great.  Like everyone else in the world, except maybe those few people without tv, I've known about Netflix for awhile now.  I never really wanted to go for it until recently when we started getting Pay-per-View on DirecTV.  That $3.99 (now $4.99) a movie adds up quick.   We signed up for the $8.99 a month plan which allows us to get one movie at a time, with unlimited online viewing as well.  Since signing up on New Year's Eve, we've been sent 5 movies and I've also watched 3 online.  We should be receiving our next movie on Thursday.  Obviously we're getting to watch way more movies for the money than we would by renting or ordering Pay-per-View.  I suppose you could technically save more with premium movie channels, but they show so much crap these days, I don't think they're worth it.

Well, my cake's done.  I've got to go get it cooled and frosted.
